About the Hotel – Our History

Why Matildas?

The name Matildas is inspired by “Waltzing Matildas”, uniting the Australian, German and Chilean culture, where to travel, to enjoy, to share and to meet are our main motivations.

Old house built by the architects Ricardo Larrain Bravo and Alberto Cruz Montt in 1912, it was totally restored conserving its original French classic aspect, of three floors of height, 1015 M2 and a great garden with old trees.

Matildas is located in the Barrio Brasil of Santiago, a neighborhood declared a typical area in which different types of cultures and people coexist in the same way as it was in the beginning of 1900. Everyone who enjoys urbanity, architecture, atmosphere and The history of Santiago Poniente.

On the first floor are located: El Restobar, to start the morning with a delicious breakfast or at sunset enjoy a glass of wine.
